remember jumping rope?
When two friends would hold the ends and turn, and you would watch for a minute, wait to get the rhythm, and then jump in?
We think smart innovation happens in kind of the same way. Trends are at one end of the rope, consumer insights at the other. They work in tandem, turning the rope, creating a rhythm. At Jump Rope Innovation, we help clients to get the rhythm. To see the patterns and anticipate what's next. To know just when and just how to jump in.
At Jump Rope Innovation, we bring client teams face to face (often literally!) with category trends and with the consumers who use (or potentially use) our clients' products every day. We use our learnings from these experiences to help generate forward-thinking innovation and to create concepts that jump off the page because they are deeply relevant, differentiated and engaging.

Robyn Carter, CEO

WHAT I DO
I started Jump Rope Innovation in 2005 with the goal of helping clients to connect consumer and category trends in service of smart innovation. As the CEO, I am always thinking about new ways to help illuminate the real lives of the real people our clients serve. I'm an explorer by nature, and I'm relentless in my pursuit of "why" (just ask anyone who knew me as a three-year-old...), as it's the "why" that will allow us to anticipate what will happen next.

WHAT I DID
My previous life was spent in advertising, working in both Account Management and New Business, helping to create and implement communications strategy for a series of iconic brands such as Capri Sun, Kool-Aid and Red Stripe. I was a Partner, Account Supervisor at Ogilvy, serving the global Maxwell House brand when I left advertising to forge new frontiers. I graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Industrial & Labor Relations.

WHAT ELSE I DO
When I'm not working (and sometimes when I am working) I love spending time with my family. We have five kids (and a dog who thinks he's human) and each brings something special and unique to the party. Never a dull moment with so many personalities! I love travel, cooking, writing, fitness, and share these passions with John and our kids. In fact, in spite of my questionable athletic ability, I completed my third half-marathon last spring with our daughter, Catherine.

FUN FACT
I was born & raised in Brooklyn (although I lost my accent years ago) and I'm here to tell you, it's always been cool.
